THE JOURNEY THAT SHAPED THE STANDARD
The JADE Standard is deeply personal to me. It was born from the lessons I learned growing up, the standards I was taught to live by, and the experiences that showed me success is built through discipline, resilience, and the choice to keep showing up when things get hard.

EARLY LIFE
FOUNDATIONS THAT SHAPED THE STANDARD
I grew up in Santa Claus, Indiana — a small rural town built on hard work, discipline, and sports. My dad owned a feed mill, and from the time I was young, I watched him work through heat, cold, rain, snow, exhaustion, and injury without ever complaining. He lifted fifty‑ to eighty‑pound bags of feed all day, six days a week, and never took a sick day. That was my first example of what it meant to outwork everyone.
As a kid, I learned that nothing is given and you are not entitled to anything. If you want something, you earn it. My dad didn’t teach this through lectures — he taught it through how he lived. When I worked with him at the mill or helped around the house, he would give me a list of tasks. If I couldn’t hear him clearly and asked him to repeat it, I could see the frustration in his face. I never wanted to disappoint him, so I started doing every task I thought he might have said — all of them, as fast and as well as I could. Eventually, I stopped waiting to be told what needed to be done. I learned to see it, own it, and do it. That was the beginning of my standard.
ATHLETIC JOURNEY
THE ROAD THAT TESTED AND REFINED ME
Sports were a constant in my life. I played softball, ran track, tried basketball, did gymnastics, cheered, played volleyball, and even loved playing football with the boys at recess. Volleyball and gymnastics became my main sports, but my path wasn’t easy. In seventh grade, I was on the B team in volleyball — twelve years old, barely playing, and nowhere near the best. But I wanted to be.
Everything changed when I joined KIVA at sixteen. It was the best club in the region, and I knew I was finally getting the level of coaching and expectation I needed. I wasn’t intimidated by the talent around me — I was motivated by it. I put my ego aside, stayed coachable, and committed to becoming the hardest worker in the room.
My goal was simple: be the best at everything. Run faster, jump higher, hit harder, work longer. I trained when I was tired, sick, or overwhelmed. I sacrificed time with friends, but it never felt like a sacrifice — I loved every minute of it. That experience taught me that excellence isn’t about talent. If you do the work, stay disciplined, and remain coachable, the results will follow.
LESSONS LEARNED
THE LESSONS THAT SHAPED MY LIFE
Sports taught me discipline, resilience, and how to show up for something bigger than myself. Team sports demand character — how you communicate, how you respond to adversity, how you support others, and how you hold yourself accountable. Those lessons shaped the person I became as a coach, leader, and mom.
I believe kids need someone to teach them these principles early, so they can build habits that carry into adulthood. They need standards that help them rise through setbacks, not crumble under them. They need to learn that effort matters more than praise, and that rewarding the wrong behaviors only weakens their future. We must stop celebrating the bare minimum and start developing character that prepares them for real life.
The standard I live by today is the same one I teach: finding joy in the journey, embracing adversity as a source of strength, choosing discipline as a path to freedom, and pursuing excellence through effort — these principles shape who I am.
THE JOURNEY THAT SHAPED MEÂ
Coaching Experience
I’ve coached volleyball at multiple levels over the past fifteen years — beginning with three years at Forest Park High School, where I led the freshman team and supported varsity. After stepping away to focus on my career and raise my family, I returned to coaching when my daughter began playing, and I’ve been coaching ever since.
Today, I coach athletes across middle school and competitive club volleyball, working with players from ages 10 through 18. My teams consistently earn top finishes and tournament wins, and I’m known for high standards, transformational coaching, and building strong foundations that athletes carry with them into every level of play.
Athletic Background
My athletic career was built on discipline, competitiveness, and high performance. At Heritage Hills, I helped lead the program to its first state‑finals appearance and earned multiple top honors, including being named 1st Team All‑State twice and Student Athlete of the Year. I competed with KIVA in the Open Division — the highest level in USA Volleyball — and traveled internationally to Moscow for an invitational event sponsored by the USA Olympic Committee.
I was recruited to play Division I volleyball at the University of South Alabama on a full athletic scholarship. Today, I continue competing at a high level through USA Volleyball Adult Nationals, facing elite teams from across the country.
Professional Leadership
Beyond the court, my career has been defined by strategic leadership, consistent promotion, and developing people to perform at their highest level. I’ve spent more than a decade leading teams and divisions, earning leadership roles early and often because of my ability to think strategically, communicate clearly, and elevate the people around me.
Throughout my career, I’ve led large business units, presented to executive audiences, and taught masterclasses within my field — work that requires clarity, confidence, and the ability to simplify complex ideas so people can grow. My leadership style is strategic, high‑expectation, and people‑centered, and those same principles shape the way I coach athletes and build the standards behind The JADE Standard.
My Story
I grew up in a small town called Santa Claus—yes, it's a real place. It was the kind of town where everyone knew everyone, people showed up for each other, and hard work wasn't something you talked about; it was simply expected. Today, I'm a wife, a mother to two incredible kids, Aiden and Kendall, a coach, mentor, and entrepreneur. Of all those roles, being a mom has shaped me the most. My children are my greatest blessing and my biggest motivation. They are the reason I'm passionate about helping young people discover who they are and what they're capable of becoming. My faith is the foundation of everything I do. I believe God has a purpose for each of us, and I believe He called me to create The JADE Standard. What started as a desire to help athletes grow has become a mission to encourage young people to develop confidence, discipline, character, and leadership that will serve them long after their playing days are over. There are two values that guide my life every day: God first and hard work second. I've learned that when those priorities stay in order, everything else tends to align as it should. Not because life is easy, but because faith provides direction and hard work creates opportunities. Life hasn't always gone according to plan. There was a season when I had to start over and rebuild my life in Georgia. It wasn't the path I expected, but it strengthened my faith, deepened my resilience, and reminded me that some of life's greatest growth comes through our greatest challenges. Today, my passion is helping young people understand that their potential is far greater than they realize. Whether as an athlete, student, teammate, or future leader, I believe confidence is built through faith, accountability, and the willingness to do hard things.
